Landing the Large Account

Landing the large account is a step by step procedure that many of you have honed to a fine art. Today I'm going to give you the way I like to approach the process.

My first step is to put a tray of brownies together that I will be giving away as a door opener. The company I work for is one of the larger companies in the US and our catering side of the business buys a frozen brownie that is to die for.

I deliver the brownies to the receptionist and along with the brownies I give her a pocket folder that has literature about our company. I ask her to give them to the person in charge of the vending service.

Once she takes them from me I tell her I like to follow up with a phone call in a week or so to see if the person she is going to give the brownies to is interested in talking with me.

Within a week I follow up with a phone call to the contact and tell them I would enjoy being able to stop by and visit with them about some of the positive things that are going on with our company.

You would be surprised at how many will say yes if you approach it as I have stated. Another thing I like to do is to give them choices of when they would like to meet with me; say next week or the week after and just keep dialing in on a date by narrowing the choices.

At the first face to face meeting what I am after is a second meeting where I will bring my boss along with me and we tour the breakrooms. He does some idle talking while I get a list of what machines we will need to service the account. If I can get the contact to allow me to buy them a meal it really does help.

The next step in the process is to come back with the proposal you have designed for their account. I will normally bring my boss along with me and he likes giving the proposal.

The secret to landing the large account is to make a freind. It is harder for them to turn down a friend than some complete stranger that walks in thinking they are going to land the account the first or second time in the door.

My way is not the only way to get the job done and I would truly enjoy hearing how you approach landing the large account or any account. I like to say you are never too old to learn.

Honor Snack Boxes Which Box To Buy

There are mainly two choices of snack boxes that are available here in the US. The first box is a woodgrained box that will not show the finger prints as readily as its white conterpart. The white box is a brighter colored box that seems to atract more attention.

I think each box has its advantages and it is a personal preferrance. If you are thinking of going into the snack box business I would encourage you to shop around on the internet. You should not have to pay over $5.00 per box and in most cases not over $4.00 per box if you are willing to buy 25 boxes at a time.

Shipping is a part of the purchase of snack boxes and it is normally cheaper to have them shipped in one box that holds all the components of the snack boxes.

Honor Snack Boxes-Entry Point for the Vending Business

With out a doubt I would have to say that the honor snack box business is the best way to get started in the vending business if funds are an issue. For less than $5.00 per box you can buy a case of 25 boxes designed to sell snacks.

I know of no other way to go into vending any cheaper. Accounts are plentiful and many parts of the US are untouched by snack box operators.

Why should you follow this blog?

If you are interested in going into the vending business you should follow this blog.To give you a run down of who I am and what I have done in my life. I have sold something most of my life. Most of the things I have sold are food via the vending business.

I'm hoping to have the first snack box convention. I would like to be the host of this convention and I believe it will happen. My passion is in honor snack boxes it was the vehicle I used to open doors for the other things I have done in my life.

I have some experience in the bulk vending business but I have to admit it is a limited amount of experience. I did some bulk vending when I was in the snack box business.

The last 12 years have been spent in the full service vending side of the business. I had owned and operated a full line vending service until August 1st of 2009 when I sold out to a regional company here in the Midwest. I went to work for them at that time and I have been with them ever since.

In the full line vending business I would have to say my strength probably lies in sales and client retention. I look forward to hearing from those of you in the vending business and I hope you will share your knowledge with the readers of this blog

I'm looking forward to the education that all of you are going to offer up for the taking. I don't know it all and sharing with others in the same business is the best way I know to increase my knowledge of this business.

Feel free to share anything you would like about the vending business. Everyone is welcome here from the veterans of the business to those of you just thinking about getting in.
